The junior team of Alicia Liu (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) and Natalia de la Rosa (Woodland Hills, Calif./Burlo Gymnastic) collected five of the six medals won by Americans at the 2025 Schmiden International Tournament in Germany this weekend.
The U.S. junior duo secured their first medal Saturday, winning team silver with a combined score of 95.600 behind the Polish pair of Kseniya Zhyzhych and Laura Lewinska (96.800). The pair from Hungary of Regina Orvendi and Nora Boncz were third with a 92.650.
During Sunday’s event finals, Liu and De la Rosa each claimed gold medals with Liu winning the hoop title (24.200) and De la Rosa topping the clubs podium (26.500). Liu also won ribbon silver with a 23.700 while De la Rosa picked up her own silver on ball with a 24.450.
In senior competition, Yana Golovan (Las Vegas, Nev./Nevada Rhythmic Academy) picked up a bronze medal in the ribbon final with a 26.050 to highlight her time in Germany. She placed seventh in Saturday’s all-around rankings with a 102.200 where host-country Germany’s Anastasia Simakova took first with a 113.700. Golovan also landed sixth in both the hoop (25.900) and ball (24.950) finals.
Fellow senior Alexandria Kautzman (Simi Valley, Calif./California Rhythms) was also active in the tournament and was 11th in the all-around with a 96.100.
