Americans claim six medals to conclude 2026 Pan American Championships

RIO DE JANEIRO (June 21, 2026) – The American seniors concluded their South American campaign Sunday by winning six medals on the final day of competition at the 2026 Pan American Championships. In total, junior and senior artistic athletes won 28 medals in Rio, and the U.S. won 61 medals across all Pan Am competition this season.

The men were all about the gold in Brazil during apparatus finals. Yul Moldauer (Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics) extended his Pan American success on Sunday, adding a parallel bars title to his medal case with a score of 14.200. Patrick Hoopes (Lehi, Utah/U.S. Air Force Academy) likewise clinched gold on pommel horse with a 14.566, with Moldauer finishing fourth (13.633).

Moldauer also came close to a still rings podium. His score of 13.500 matched bronze medalist Felix Dolci of Canada, but a tie-break with Dolci having the higher execution score put Moldauer fourth. Additionally, he competed in the horizontal bar final and placed seventh 12.200.

The U.S. women found the podium on every apparatus Sunday, with Claire Pease (Sunnyvale, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) and Simone Rose (Sammamish, Wash./Pacific Reign Gymnastics) claiming two medals each. Pease was the champion on floor exercise with a 13.833 and took the bronze medal on vault with a 13.916 (14.166; 13.266). She also competed in the uneven bars final, where she was fifth with a 12.566.

Rose doubled up on silver in Brazil, taking the second spot on the podium on balance beam (13.700) behind Argentina’s Isabella Ajalla after the aforementioned tie-break rule, and finishing strong in second on bars (13.333). She also placed sixth in the vault final with a 13.216 (13.200; 12.833).

Charliegh Bullock (Spotsylvania, Va./Capital Gymnastics National Training Center) was active in women’s final competition and finished sixth on both beam (12.500) and floor (12.900). Kameron Nelson (Columbus, Ohio/EVO Gymnastics), Riley Loos (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Stanford University) and Taylor Burkhart (Arvada, Colo./Stanford University) also made appearances in Sunday’s finals for the men, with Nelson finishing fifth on vault (13.183; 12.600; 13.766), Loos tying for sixth on rings (13.400) and Burkhart landing sixth on high bar (12.333).
