GUIMARAES, Portugal (September 20, 2024) – American acrobats concluded qualifications on Friday with additional berths to finals at the 2024 Acrobatic World Championships.

Mo Arthur (Rolla, Mo./Mid America Acro Tumbling) and Ariana Katsov (Owensville, Mo./Mid America Acro Tumbling) finished fourth in women’s pair dynamic qualifications with a 26.960 and fifth overall with a 53.790 to advance to Saturday’s finals. With these performances, the duo secured their spot in all three final rounds.

The women’s group of Mariam Tutberidze (Owings Mills, Md.), Grace Vonder Haar (Laurel, Md.) and Kayla Vonder Haar (Laurel, Md.) from Emilia’s Acro Gymnastics and Cheer were second in dynamic qualifications with a 27.990 to move onto Saturday’s final. Overall, the trio qualified to the combined final in fourth with a 55.840, also making them three-for-three in final appearances. Despite their strong, fourth place ranking (27.720) in qualifications, the group of Olivia Green (Silver Spring, Md./Xtreme Acro), Rebecca Greenberg (North Potomac, Md./Xtreme Acro) and Caylei Caldwell (Villa Ridge, Mo./Xtreme Acro) will be the American reserve in the dynamic final due to the one-per-country rule. The group will also be the country’s reserve in the combined final.

With the qualifying performances, the U.S. earned one quota spot each to the 2025 The World Games for women’s pair and women’s group competition.

In men’s competition, Ethan Chang (Columbia, Md./Emilia’s Acro Gymnastics and Cheer) and David Vonder Haar (Laurel, Md./Emilia’s Acro Gymnastics and Cheer) finished 12 in balance qualifications with a 26.860 and will not advance. The men’s pair also ranked 12th overall with a total of 52.790 and will be first reserves to the combined final.

In the team final, Americans placed fifth overall with a total of 69 points. China (82), Azerbaijan (82) and Israel (81) were the podium finishers.
