PARIS, France (August 2, 2024) – The U.S. trampoline delegation placed in the top 13 during their qualifying rounds Friday at Bercy Arena.
Olympic veteran Aliaksei Shostak (Lafayette, La.) finished 10th in men’s qualifying, posting the highest Olympic finish ever by a U.S. man and landing just two positions shy of the top 8 that advanced to the final. The Tokyo Olympian and 2023 U.S. individual trampoline champion posted a score of 57.530 on his first routine to close out his second Olympic campaign.
Competing in her first Olympic Games, Jessica Stevens (Ellicott City, Md.) placed 13th in women’s qualifications. The 2023 Pan American Games gold medalist and World Championships bronze medalist completed her first routine with a 53.170 and scored 52.450 on her second routine Friday afternoon.
Women’s and men’s artistic gymnastics competition resumes Saturday, August 3 with individual event finals. Simone Biles (Spring, Texas) and Jade Carey (Phoenix, Ariz.) compete on women’s vault for Team USA, while Stephen Nedoroscik (Worcester, Mass.) will conclude his eventful 2024 Olympic campaign on pommel horse.
