Rodrigues and Allen accepting their silver medal

ALBERSHAUSEN, Germany, April 20, 2009 – 2008 mixed pair world silver-medalists Kristin Allen and Michael Rodrigues of Livermore, Calif./West Coast Training Center, earned the silver medal at the 2009 Acro Cup Albershausen in Albershausen, Germany.

Allen and Rodrigues earned a total score of 86.528 after posting a 28.850 for their balance routine, a 28.611 for their dynamic routine and a 29.067 for their combined routine. Great Britain’s Nicholas Illingworth and Katie Axten won the gold medal with an 87.057, and Germany’s Denny Böttcher and Annika Grader finished third at 84.673.

The other senior-level champions were: Holland’s Miranda van Duuren, Pauline Diender and Stephanie Luka, women’s group, 82.505; Belarus’ Alina Yushko and Katsiaryna Muraschko, women’s pair, 85.412; Great Britain’s Adam McAssey, Adam Buckingham, Alex Uttley and Jonathan Stranks, men’s group, 86.693; and Great Britain’s Douglas Fordyce and Edward Upcott, men’s pair, 84.104.

The Acro Cup Albershausen featured competition in age-group, junior and senior divisions. Including the USA, athletes from 12 countries competed in the event: Belarus, Bulgaria, England, Germany, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain and Switzerland.

Marie Annonson was the head coach for the U.S. Team at the Acro Cup Albershausen, with Ronda Francis serving as a judge.
