BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Feb. 24, 2018 – Paul Bretscher of Huntsville, Ala./Merino Trampoline Gymnastics Academy, and Nicole Ahsinger of Lafayette, La./Trampoline and Tumbling Express, claimed the men’s and women’s trampoline titles, respectively, at the 2018 Winter Classic Invitational at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek, Mich.
Bretscher earned a total score of 158.900 in senior men’s trampoline to top second-place finisher Stewart Pritchard of Greensboro, N.C./Ultimate Air (158.660), and third-place finisher Joseph Isenberg of Martinsburg, W.Va./Elite Trampoline Academy (154.400). In senior men’s double mini-trampoline, Ruben Padilla of Oakley, Calif./Tornado Sport Club, earned the top spot with a 143.600, followed by Tristen Ackerson of Florence, Ky./ MJM Studios, in second at 138.700, and Drake McMullen of Carl Junction, Mo./Amplify Gymnastics, in third (136.300). Kaden Brown of Herriman, Utah/Wasatch Trampoline & Tumbling, tallied a 145.700 to win senior men’s tumbling, with Matthew Hawkins of Phoenix, Ariz./North Valley Gymnastics placing second (135.400) and Emilio Lehmer of Tempe, Ariz./ North Valley Gymnastics finishing third (134.900).
Ahsinger placed first in senior women’s trampoline with a score of 156.310. Alyssa Oh of Rocklin, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, finished second (154.970) and Hally Piontek of Warrensburg, Mo./Kansas City Trampoline Club, placed third with 150.665. Aubrey Beyers of Pana, Ill./Kris Power Tumbling, won senior women’s double mini with a 134.700, followed by Kiley Lockett of Oceanside, Calif./World Elite, in second (134.500), and Piontek in third (133.600). Posting a score of 130.200 to win senior women’s tumbling was Eliza Floisand of Salt Lake City, Utah/Wasatch Trampoline & Tumbling. Gretchen Schultz of Destrehan, La./Elmwood Gymnastics Academy, and Lockett rounded out the top three in second (124.900) and third (56.500), respectively.
The champions in the junior division were: men – Logan Gilbert of Paris, Texas/Texas Tumbling and Trampoline, trampoline; Charlie Larson of Gleason’s Gymnastics Maple Grove, double mini; and Nicholas George of Brooklyn Park, Minn./Gleason’s Gymnastics Maple Grove, tumbling; and women Sydney Senter of Aiea, Hawaii/Hawaii Trampoline and Tumbling, trampoline; Kayttie Nakamura of Honolulu, Hawaii/Hawaii Trampoline and Tumbling, double mini; and Eve Doudican of Bixby, Okla./Oklahoma Extreme Tumbling, tumbling.
