An elite athlete in the Acrobatic Program is defined as any athlete competing in the Elite Program (11-16 Age Group, Junior Elite 12-18, Junior Elite 13-19 and Senior Elite) in either women’s or men’s pair, mixed pair, or women’s or men’s group.
Junior and Senior Elites perform three exercises: balance, dynamic, and combined. Elite competitors have specific requirements to be met in the construction and performance of their exercises. These directives, general rules for evaluating exercises, and a list of technical and artistic faults are taken from the FIG Code of Points for Acrobatic Gymnastics and are included in this publication.
The Bonus System is designed to promote, encourage, and reward the successful completion of high-level elements during competition. The elements included in the Bonus System will elevate athletes’ competitive reputation and caliber internationally, on the world stage, and create a positive impact either through difficulty or through the precision and technique required to successfully complete each element. These skills also help stimulate knowledge within clubs throughout the country and athletes’ potential to win medals.
