Over 75 athletes and coaches from across the country came together at the National Team Training Center in Huntsville, Texas to participate in the Acrobatic Gymnastics Open Training Camp for Junior Olympic thru Elite level athletes.

Led by elite coaches Sarah Thomas and LeAann Lenhart, along with Marcia DeGuire, head of Acrobatics Program Growth and Development Committee and dance professional Christian Minnicks, the camp consisted of two training sessions per day, emphasizing skill technique development, building difficulty, dance, coach’s education, and athlete development.

Here’s what the attending coaches had to say about their experience:

“This camp was amazing! I am so glad that this camp exists for teams like mine that dont have national team members and are looking to learn and become better coaches. Thanks for providing this opportunity for camp again this year and can’t wait to attend again next year!!” Kyla Knights, Head Coach of Aspire, Phoenix, Arizona

“The clinicians were fantastic; My athletes and I learned a lot. I look forward to attending the Open Camp again next year, and will encourage all of my athletes to attend.” Dylan Maurer, Coach of Empire Acrogymnastics, Riverside, California

“We received lots of personal attention and learned a lot of techniques and skills we will take back to our gym.” Robin Stevens, Head Coach of Cal-Elite Kids, Rancho Santa Margarita, California
