Committee Openings

At USA Gymnastics, our mission is to create a community and culture of health, safety, and excellence where athletes can thrive in sport and in life. The strength of the that mission depends in large part on the volunteers serving in critical roles on our many Committees and Task Forces across the sport. These groups help set policy, weigh in on governance, provide vision, and take part in a myriad of other critical tasks in an effort to promote and grow the sport.

If you are interested in being a part of shaping the future of USA Gymnastics we invite you to apply to serve as a volunteer on our Committees or Task Forces. All open positions are listed below and will remain open until filled.

Nominating & Governance Committee
• Openings: (2) Professional
  • Professional means the individual has a professional membership with USA Gymnastics.
• Term: 4 years to begin immediately with a maximum of 2 terms allowed.
• About: The Nominating & Governance Committee develops the processes and procedures for elections, solicits and vets Board and Committee nominations, and provides feedback to the Board as requested in matters involving changes to USA Gymnastics’ policies or other governance documents.

Finance & Audit Committee

• Openings: (2) Independent
  • Independent means that an individual has no material relationship with USA Gymnastics; no relationship that would interfere with the exercise of independent judgement in carrying out the responsibilities of a committee member; and not be an “affiliated person” of USA Gymnastics or any affiliate organization.
  • Interested applicants should possess strong financial acumen with the ability to navigate and apply core financial principles.
• Term: 4 years to begin immediately with a maximum of 2 terms allowed.
• About: The Finance & Audit Committee plays a critical role in assisting the Board in its oversight of the independent financial auditors, USA Gymnastics’ internal audit function, annual budgeting process, review of periodic interim financial statements, and risk management.

Safety and Response Committee

• Openings: (1) Individual with Subject Matter Expertise
• Term: 4 years to begin immediately with a maximum of 2 terms allowed.
• About: The Safety & Response Committee plays a critical role in advising the Board on policies and procedures related to Safety & Response which are the foundation for athlete safety and well-being and prevention of abuse.
