HUNTSVILLE, Texas, Oct. 24, 2017 – Forty-five gymnasts attended the October developmental camp for women’s gymnastics at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center in Huntsville, Texas. Led by Valeri Liukin, national team coordinator for USA Gymnastics, the athletes participated in two-a-day training sessions and physical abilities testing.

Following testing, the gymnasts demonstrated their new skills and combinations for the national coaching staff. The athletes, who plan to compete as Hopes and Junior Elites in 2018, are working on final routine construction for the upcoming elite season.

Mya Witte of Genie’s Gymnastics, Lillian Lippeatt of Cincinnati Gymnastics and Ryan Fuller of San Mateo Gymnastics, took the top three spots, respectively, for physical abilities testing. Fuller was selected most improved camper.

The gymnasts will return to the training center in November as they continue preparations for the 2018 competition season.
