BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3, 2022 – Twenty-five U.S. acrobats between the ages of 12 and 19 are set to take the floor this week at the biennial Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions at the Milli Gimnastika Arenasi in Baku, Azerbaijan. In all, more than 400 gymnasts from 24 countries will participate.

Reigning Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group mixed pair silver medalists Jaylen Ivey of San Jose, Calif., and Amaya Rogers of Campbell, Calif., (Aerial Tumbling and Acrogymnastics) and women’s pair bronze medalists Mo Arthur of Rolla, Mo., and Ariana Katsov of Owensville, Mo., (Mid America Acro Tumbling) headline a seasoned contingent of U.S. competitors. Only six athletes will make their World Age Group debuts in Baku.

Qualifications in the 12-18-year-old division kicked off today with one men’s pair, two mixed pairs, two women’s pairs and two women’s groups in action for the U.S. Qualifications will continue tomorrow with finals for the 12-18 division slated for Saturday, beginning at 5:20 a.m. ET. In the 13-19-year-old division, Ivey and Rogers will begin mixed pair qualifications Friday. The U.S. will also field a 13-19 women’s group and two women’s pairs, which will begin qualifications Saturday. Finals for 13-19 athletes will take place Sunday at 4:20 a.m. ET.
