INDIANAPOLIS, May 7, 2021 – More than 900 gymnasts are set to compete May 7-9 at the 2021 USA Gymnastics Development Program Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships, which will take place at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park, Ga., and Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa, respectively. The Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships feature the top Level 9 gymnasts in their geographical areas and serve as the culmination of the Development Program Level 9 competitive season.

Both events feature competition across 16 age divisions, and the top-seven athletes in each division will face off in the all-around. A regional Super Team title will also be awarded.

Development Program Level 9 Eastern Championships
The Eastern Championships feature the top Level 9 gymnasts from USA Gymnastics’ women’s artistic Regions 5-8. Regions are determined by state: Region 5 – Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio; Region 6 – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont; Region 7 – Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia; Region 8 – Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee.

The competition schedule for the Eastern Championships is listed below in eastern time. Award ceremonies will be held at the conclusion of each session.

  • May 7: Session 1 – Juniors 1 and 2 at 9:10 a.m.; Session 2 – Juniors 3 and 4 at 1:40 p.m.; Session 3 – Juniors 5 and 6 at 6:10 p.m.
  • May 8: Session 4 – Juniors 7 and 8 at 9:10 a.m.; Session 5 – Seniors 1 and 2 at 1:40 p.m.; Session 6 – Seniors 3 and 4 at 6:10 p.m.
  • May 9: Session 7 – Seniors 5 and 6 at 9:10 a.m.; Session 8 – Seniors 7 and 8 at 1:40 p.m.

The Western Championships feature the top Level 9 gymnasts from USA Gymnastics’ women’s artistic Regions 1-4. Regions are determined by state: Region 1 – Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah; Region 2 – Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington; Region 3 – Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming; Region 4 – Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin

The competition schedule for the Western Championships is as follows. All times are in central time. Award ceremonies will follow each session.

  • May 7: Session 1 – Juniors 1 and 2 at 9:10 a.m.; Session 2 – Juniors 3 and 4 at 1:40 p.m.; Session 3 – Juniors 5 and 6 at 6:10 p.m.
