DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., May 16, 2021 – The 2021 USA Gymnastics Development Program National Championships, previously known as the Junior Olympic National Championships, wrapped up Sunday at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla. Men’s all-around and individual event titles were awarded in Junior Elite and Junior National divisions for Levels 8, 9 and 10. Regional team champions were also named for each division, while Junior National club team championships were awarded by level.

Levels are determined by age and skill level. Level 8 is comprised of athletes who are 11 or 12 years old. Level 9 consists of 13 and 14-year-olds, and Level 10 is split between two age divisions: 15-16 year olds and 17-18 year olds.

For the first time, the men’s competition was held in conjunction with the women’s Level 10 national championships. To advance to the Development Program Nationals, gymnasts competed in state and regional meets where their performances qualified them based on all-around or individual event rankings.

Many current and former Men’s and Women’s National Team members, including Olympic and World champions, competed in the Development-National Championships-equivalent Junior Olympic National Championships before advancing to the elite level of gymnastics.
