TOKYO, Japan, Dec. 4, 2019 – Four 2018 World Age Group medalists are among the 58-person U.S. Team that will compete in the 2019 World Trampoline and Tumbling Age Group Competitions at the Ariake Gymnastics Center, the 2020 Olympic Games venue, in Tokyo, Japan. The four-day competition has a field of 800 gymnasts representing 40 countries. The World Age Group Competitions begins Thursday, Dec. 5, and wraps up on Dec. 8.
The four 2018 medalists on the U.S. squad are: Reed Forsee of Sebring, Fla./Elite World Gymnastics, 2018 15-16 tumbling silver; Logan McCoy of Middletown, N.J./Elite Trampoline Academy, 2018 11-12 synchronized trampoline gold; Shelby Nobuhara of Mapleton, Utah/High Altitude, 13-14 double mini-trampoline gold; and Sydney Senter of Aiea, Hawaii/Merino Trampoline Gymnastics Academy, 15-16 double-mini silver;.
The World Age Group Competitions will determine champions in trampoline, double mini-trampoline, tumbling and synchron ized trampoline for boys and girls in four age-groups. The USA is competing in three of the four age-group categories: 13-14,15-16 and 17-21. The top eight advance to the respective finals.
The competitive schedule is as follows. All times are local to Tokyo, which is 14 hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time.
