RAPID CITY, S.D., Jan. 8, 2008 — 2008 Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin of Parker, Texas, 2008 Olympic balance beam champ Shawn Johnson of West Des Moines, Iowa, and 2008 Olympic high bar silver-medalist Jonathan Horton of Houston are three of the USA’s seven 2008 Olympic medalists featured in the “Progressive presents Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular,” which will be broadcast on NBC Sports on Jan. 18, 2009, from 4 – 6 p.m. ET.

Also featured in the show are: 2008 Olympic team silver-medalists Samantha Peszek of Indianapolis and Alicia Sacramone of Winchester, Mass.; 2008 Olympic team bronze-medalists Raj Bhavsar of Houston and Justin Spring of Burke, Va.; 2004 Olympic all-around champion Paul Hamm of Waukesha, Wis., and his brother Morgan, who was a member of the 2004 Olympic silver medal team; and Ivan Ivankov of Belarus, who is a two-time world all-around champion.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Bart Conner, nine-time Olympic medalist Nadia Comaneci and 1968 Olympic gold medalist Peggy Fleming serve as hosts for the show, which was recorded Dec. 23, 2008, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, S.D.

Actress and singer/songwriter Raven Symone, best known for her roles in “The Cosby Show,” the “Cheetah Girls” and “That’s So Raven,” provides musical entertainment. The cast of figure skaters includes 2008 junior world silver medalist Caroline Zhang; four-time Canadian champion Joannie Rochette; world junior champion and U.S. silver medalist Rachael Flatt; two-time U.S. men’s champion Evan Lysacek; six-time U.S. champion Todd Eldredge; and Olympic silver medalist Tanith Belbin.
