Question: What are fun exercises I can do with my child to help increase strength and flexibility without losing their attention? |
|
Children respond in many different ways to their parental guidance at home. The psychology of a healthy parent and child relationship is a challenge. The key word is fun. Working out together with a parent is usually what the child wants more than having a parent turn into a coach pushing them at home. They already have a coach at the gym.
Chin-ups, pushups, sit-ups, running, jumping, stretching, etc… are all exercises that can benefit both the parent and child. Try to stay away from creating a competitive environment between you and your child though. It is important that each of you create personal goals and not focusing on outdoing each other. |
