Trampoline & Tumbling Scholarship Program

The members of the Trampoline & Tumbling Program recognize that college-age athletes are essential to our international competitive standing. In order to give these athletes every opportunity to meet the demands of higher education while still training and competing for the program, steps must be taken to help provide funding.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the Scholarship Program is to provide Trampoline & Tumbling athletes with funds to continue their education while still training and competing for USA Gymnastics.
ELIGIBILITY:
  • Seventeen years of age or older
  • Full-time or part-time (at least 8 hours) student at an accredited college or university
  • Currently registered athlete, training and competing with USA Gymnastics Trampoline & Tumbling
  • GPA of at least 2.5
  • College or high school transcripts (Required)
COMMITTEE: A sub-committee of 4 USA Gymnastics Professional Members will choose scholarship recipients. The Scholarship Committee will consist of the Program Director; voting member, Chair of Scholarship Committee; voting member of committee (selected by the Program Committee), a member of the Program Committee and an Athlete Representative (retired from competition) over the age of 18. Athlete Representative should ideally have a college degree/business experience (selected by Program Committee; voting member).

The Scholarship Committee may allocate funds to athletes in any amount, as deemed appropriate.

FUNDING: Scholarships will be funded by:
  • Contributions from every sanctioned Trampoline & Tumbling competitions, including J.O. Championships
  • Corporate contributions
  • Fundraisers
  • Named scholarships (accepted on a case-by-case basis)
  • USA Gymnastics T&T Scholarship Camp and other fund raising competitions and clinics organized by USA Gymnastics T&T.
DETAILS:
  • The Meet Director for every Trampoline & Tumbling sanctioned competition is required to forward $1.00 per athlete to the T&T Scholarship Fund. A check (made out to the T&T Scholarship Fund) must be included in the Sanction Report Form, which must be submitted to USA Gymnastics following every sanctioned competition.

  • Any host club who defaults on the $1.00 per athlete contribution will receive a reminder from the National Office. If still in default, the sanction for the meet may be rescinded.

  • 50% of the funds collected for T&T scholarships will be distributed within one year of when they are collected. The remaining 50% of the collected funds will go into an endowment fund to assure the continuation of the Scholarship Program.

DEADLINES: May 4, 2012 - Scholarship applications and a copy of your college or high school transcripts are required for the 2011-2012 school year must be received in the Program Office

May 21, 2012 - Committee names scholarship recipients for the 2012-2013 school year. Scholarships will be awarded at National Championships.
