INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Aug. 31, 2011 – USA Gymnastics has named the U.S. Team for the 2011 World Trampoline and Tumbling Championships, Nov. 17-20, in Birmingham, England. Local organizers and the International Gymnastics Federation recently held the World Trampoline and Tumbling Championships draw, which determines the competition order in the preliminary rounds of the four-day event. The 2011World Trampoline and Tumbling Championships is the first of two opportunities to qualify for trampoline at the 2012 Olympic Games.

The gymnasts representing the United States in the World Championships are as follows.

In trampoline, the USA's men will compete in the final preliminary group, along with Colombia, Mexico and Australia, and the women are in the sixth of seven qualifying groups and compete in the same group with Argentina, Mexico and France. The top eight men and women automatically qualify their country to the Olympic Games. The final chance to advance to the Olympic Games comes at the Olympic Test Event in January.

• Tumbling: The men are in the second of four groups, along with Portugal, France and Belarus; and the women compete in the third and final group with the Ukraine, Brazil and South Africa.
• Double mini-trampoline: The men participate in the second of four groups, with South Africa and Brazil; and the women are in the third and final group, with Argentina, Germany and Brazil.
• Synchronized trampoline: The U.S. men's synchro teams landed in the fifth and 41st spots, with the women second and seventh.
