Over 280 gymnasts participated in the 2012 TOPs National Testing at our Olympic Training Center in Huntsville, Texas on September 28 – 30, 2012. The gymnasts qualified to the National Testing through state testing held during the summer. The gymnasts are tested on both skills and physical abilities.

The TOPs testing was directed by Valeri Liukin. TOPs master staff included many members of our National Coaching Staff and State TOPs Managers. The three day event included coaches' lectures and parents meeting with Valeri Liukin.

Gymnast's test scores will qualify them to our TOPs National Team and TOPs B Team. Both teams will come back to the training center in late November, early December to participate in training camps.

The TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program) is celebrating their 20th year. The program is designed to identify young talented gymnasts' ages 7 – 10 years old. This training plan is one of the most successful programs within USA Gymnastics. Former TOPs gymnasts include many Olympic and World Champions. Jordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Alicia Sacramone, Chellsie Memmel and Carly Patterson were all members of our TOPs National Team.
