Meadows, who is the men's team coach at Cypress Gymnastics, is the personal coach for two-time Olympian Jonathan Horton and 2012 replacement athlete Chris Brooks, both of whom hail from Houston and represent Team Hilton HHonors. Meadows has coached elite gymnasts since 1995 and was the first coach for both Horton and Brooks before they went on to successful collegiate careers at the University of Oklahoma. The USA Gymnastics Senior Coach of the Year, Meadows was a 2010 World Championships assistant coach, where he helped Horton to all-around bronze. Meadows is a former NCAA All-American and 1994 Nissen Award finalist.
The men who advance to the all-around and individual event finals will have their personal coaches with them on the floor for those sessions. In addition to Meadows, the other personal coaches are: Jake Dalton of Reno, Nev./University of Oklahoma -- Mark Williams; Danell Leyva of Miami/Team Hilton HHonors (Universal Gymnastics) – Yin Alvarez; Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif./University of Michigan – Kurt Golder; and John Orozco of the Bronx, N.Y./Team Hilton HHonors (U.S. Olympic Training Center) – Vitaly Marinitch.
