
LOS ANGELES, July 3, 2012 – With 23 days to opening ceremonies, Universal Sports Network will broadcast a special 90-minute episode of Countdown to London this Wednesday, July 4 at 8 p.m. ET. This week’s extended broadcast will have results from the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, exclusive features and interviews as the 2012 Olympic Games in London draw near.
NBC and Universal Sports gymnastics commentator Tim Daggett is one of three commentators that join hosts Fred Roggin and Amy Bender to break down Team USA and their chances for Olympic gold at this summer’s games. Ato Boldon covers the track and field trials held in Eugene, and Rowdy Gaines visits the studio to re-cap the U.S. swimming trials held in Omaha. Daggett wraps up the men’s and women’s trials held in San Jose, and the Olympic expectations of Team USA. Daggett will analyze the men’s team led by John Orozco and Danell Leyva, and the women’s team led by U.S. champion Jordyn Wieber.
In addition, this week’s special episode of Countdown to London will have highlights from the U.S. Paralympic track and field trials, and a special visit with the U.S. Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby Team who will defend their gold medal at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London which begin Aug. 29.
