Faces In The Gym - April 2012

Paige Rhoads, 11 years old from Mt. Laurel, N.J., and Will-Moor Gymnastics, was the 2012 Level 8 floor champion at the New Jersey State Championships. She scored a 9.775 and set a new record for floor. Her other scores included vault 9.55, bars 9.45, beam 9.45 and all-around 38.25, giving her a fourth place finish and landing her a spot on team NJ for regionals. Paige is coached by Kim Bonus, Jean Kane and John Wilton.

Sydney Urch and Tessa Basile, Level 6 gymnasts from Daggett Gymnastics, have fun at St. Pete Beach, Fla. The girls competed in the 2012 Gasparilla Classic in February, which was held at Tropicana Field, the home of the Tampa Bay Rays. Their team, which included gymnasts: Leelle Tyler, Sydney Kraez, and Marina Wilkins took home the first place trophy.

Raquel Rubio-Villa, 11 years old, is a Level 7 rhythmic gymnast from Lakewood Rhythmic Gymnastics. She won the Level 7 State title in Colorado. She is coached by Marina Carlson.

Pheron Givens-Webb, 15 years old, is a level 9 gymnast from Rockford, Ill. Pheron placed 1st on bars, beam and in the all-around at her State meet last month. Pheron is a three-time State champion on bars - twice at level 8 and this year at level 9. Pheron trains at the Gymnastic Academy of Rockford in Rockford, Ill.

Paige Donaldson, 11 years old from Mandeville, La., took home the Level 6 All-Around title at the 2012 Louisiana State Meet with a score of 37.575. A solid beam routine made her the 2012 beam champion as well, scoring a 9.80. Paige is training with an incredible group of coaches at Northshore Gymnastics.

Sarah Wilson, Sarah, 10 years old from Suwanee, Ga., is a Level 7 gymnast at Gymnastics World of Georgia. She won first place at the 2012 Smoky Mountain Gymnastics Vacation Classic with an All Around score of 38.025 as well as first place at the 2012 National Gymnastics Challenge with a score of 38.325.

Jordan Chiles, 10 years old from Vancouver, Wash., is a Level 10 gymnast. She started gymnastics just 4 years ago at Naydenov Gymnastics under the extraordinary coaching talents of Erika Bakacs and Dimitri Taskov. She quickly moved up the ranks as one of the top power gymnasts in the Region!

Svetlana Shull, 11 years old from North Carolina, had a wonderful 2011 Level 5 season. Out of 8 meets she finished first in the all-around five times. She is the North Carolina Level 5 State Bar Champion and finished second in the all-around at the North Carolina State Championships.

Parker Stocker, 10 years old from Coos Bay, Ore., is a Level 5 gymnast at Gymnastics Plus. In March she won her first all-around title in Ashland's Shakespeare Invitational. She is known in the gym as being a good friend and teammate to all, and tries to focus on the positives of everyone, not just the scores.

Mary Meister, 9, trains at California Sports Center in San Jose, Calif. On November 12th she competed at the State Championship for Level 5 and finished with an all-around score of 37.525. Her beam routine was amazing and scored a 9.800!

Jenna Schmitz (from San Antonio, Texas) at age 7 was vault champion and won second place in the all-around at the 2010 Level 4 State meet. At age 8, she won second place in both vault and beam and third in the all-around at the 2011 Level 5 State meet. Jenna is training Level 6 at United Gym Academy and is coached by Paul and Amanda Rocha.
