Skylar Arntson, 7, is training Levels 6/7 at Georgia Elite Gymnastics, which is owned by 4-time National Champion Kim Arnold Arenas. After winning bars and all-around titles at the Georgia AAU Level 2 State Meet in 2008, Skylar spent six months training Level 4 before moving up to Level 5 last November. After just three months of training, Skylar competed Level 5 last spring and placed first or second on nearly every event at every meet, including two all-around titles. She is now training to compete Level 6 this fall and Level 7 next spring. Skylar is coached by Elena Gouzeeva and Allye Gibbons.

Julia Marie Polt, 9 years old from Dunmore, Pa., competed her first season at Level 5 with United Sports Academy. She practices 12 to 16 hours weekly. Julia placed first in the all-around at the State Meet in May 2009 with a score of 37.150. She also placed first on bars with a 9.300, second on floor, fourth on vault and beam. Her coaches are Dima Raynova, Omar Egas, Ivan Guertchev, and Katie Firmstone.

Sarah Scheldrup is a Level 8 gymnast at Northwest Gymnastics School in New Hope, Minn. Sarah placed at the Minnesota Level 7 State Meet in the all-around. Her coaches are Samir and Latifa Draoui. Sarah is a 4.0 student and has her own neighborhood business.

The Level 5 Team from Halker's Gold Gymnastics from Ottawa, Ohio, worked hard all year and it really paid off. They are the Level 5 American Division Ohio State Champions. They won with a team score of 112.250. Members include - Front- Samantha Hoffman, Abigail Schroeder, McKenzie Whitacre, Makenna Lehman, Megan Kuhlman. Back - Kelsey Martz, Briana Brooks, Alaina Schimmoeller, Amanda Salhoff, Makenna Johnson.

Grace Brown is 11 years old and competed as a Level 6 in the 2008-2009 season-placing first in Chicagoland Invitational, Michigan State Meet, Maryland Invitational and Beachside Invitational in Florida. She placed fifth in Junior A Division in the Junior Olympics in Virginia Beach. Tessa Brown is 10 years old and competed as a Level 5 in the 2008-2009 season. She qualified for the Illinois State meet where she placed fourth in both vault and bars. Grace competes for Elite Sports Complex in Downers Grove and is training to be a Level 8 in the upcoming season. Tessa is training as a Level 7 at Naperville Gymnastics Academy in Naperville, Illinois.

Frederick Gymnastics' (Frederick, Md.) Level 9 Team, coached by Heather Galpin, Ann Marie Poole and Larisa Firestone culminated its undefeated 2008/2009 competitive season by winning the Maryland State Championship. Sarah Barron, 9, is currently training Level 8 at Hawaiian Island Twisters. This past year Sarah was a member of the TOP's National B team. She has won both the Level 6 and Level 7 State All-Around titles. Her coach is Lori Yee.

Deana Parris completed her first year as a Level 10 trampolinist. She won first in trampoline in the 13-14 age group at the Maryland State Championships. She and her partner also placed third in Synchronized Trampoline at the Elite Challenge in Arkansas. After winning the silver medal at the JO National Championships in San Jose this summer, she's now earned a chance to compete in both individual and synchro at the World Age Group Selection event in Las Vegas this fall. Deana trains with the Fairland Trampoline and Tumbling Team in Laurel, Md., with Konstantin Gulisashvilli.

The New Jersey 2008-2009 Level 9 State Championships were held on March 28-29. For the first time in the Gym's history Atlantic Coast Gymnastics Level 9 Team captured first place. Individual successes were achieved by the following girls: Senior B Division - Alex Ivol 1st place AA, Shannon Gray 2nd place AA; Senior A Division - Amanda Rota 2nd place AA, Jessica Powell 3rd place AA; Junior B Division-Sarah Krulish 2nd place AA, Morgan Venuti 10th place AA, Alicia Bair 15th place AA, Sami Monzo 16th place AA, Katie Hollywood placed 5th on Bars.
