|Julia Ross, age 12, was a 1st year, level 10 gymnast at Browns Gymnastics in Las Vegas, Nev., and spent most of the 2007-08 season on the sidelines due to injuries. She broke her ankle, cut her face open requiring 13 stitches, then pulled a leg muscle. She competed 2 meets before she received the news that it wasn't a pulled muscle, she tore her abductor muscle 80% and was out the rest of the season. Her coaches, Dayna Waroe-Isaacs and Marcelo Figueiredo, petitioned her into regionals, where she amazingly managed four routines and qualified for the region 1 team for nationals. She placed 5th on bars, 16th on vault and 18th on floor. Not to bad for a girl who hadn't had a full workout in over six months! Needless to say, she was very proud of all her hard work and determination to finish out the season!|
