Jewart's Gymnastics - Wildwood, Pa.
"Over two hundred children participated in this year's National Gymnastics Day. We made fitness report cards and the team kids from the Pittsburgh Northstars took our rec students around the gym to perform different challenges and try different pieces of apparatus. The kids enjoyed playing with the rhythmic equipment, the zip line, traditional fitness testing, trampoline, rope climb and time on our climbing wall. There were plenty of prizes when they finished their testing. The team kids also sold pink scarves and pink lemonade to raise money for the Susan B. Komen Fund and we had a raffle to donate to Children's Miracle Network.
On 9/ll we were also busy for National Day of Service, when the Pittsburgh Northstars donated and put together 100 Spaghetti Dinners for the Food Bank, filled 70 backpacks with school supplies, decorated placemats for the Food Bank, performed at a Vincentian Nursing Home and cleaned a Nature Reserve near the gym.
These have been a busy two weeks where are kids learned how to focus on helping others through their love of gymnastics. It was a huge success."

"We had a fantastic turnout - at least 600 people on site during our 3 hour celebration, with beautiful weather.
One of our primary activities was having participants complete 10K cartwheels. We finished with 10,467!
Our event also featured a dunk tank (a big hit), bounce house, fitness and craft booths, face painting, retail/concessions, and of course team demonstrations. We had about 50 volunteer staff and parents help run the event, and 100% of the proceeds from retail and activities will be donated to CMN.
Visitors included Tina Evans, Director of CMN at the Children's Hospital of Oakland, 3 San Jose City Council Members and a City of Santa Clara Council Member (both cities presented proclamations), the San Jose Sports Authority (promoting 2012 Olympic Trials here in SJ), former Stanford All-American and local Olympic hopeful Sho Nakamori, and athletes from Cal Berkeley & San Jose State."

Our Preschoolers and the Girl's, Boy's and Acrobatics Teams all did demonstrations that were a real crowd pleasers. Former Silver Medalists at the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group Championships, Hayley Lemmons and DeShay Eisenmenger gave away autographed photos. Downriver Gymnastics - Riverview, Mich.
"Downriver Gymnastics in Riverview, Mich. had an AMAZING National Gymnastics Day celebration. One of our coaches lost her 11-month-old baby boy to a seizure disorder three years ago. Coach Stephanie's sweet baby Lucas had been such a big part of our gym's heart and we have honored his memory every year with a balloon launch “Love for Lucas” on the date of his passing. This year we took it one step further. We combined the “Love for Lucas” balloon launch with a “Jump A Thon” and carnival on National Gymnastics Day and raised $5,500 for Children's Hospital of Michigan where our little angel Lucas spent so much of his short life. The team gymnasts got pledges for jumping on the trampoline and we kept the trampoline bouncing for an entire 24 hours. All the gymnasts were split into teams of 3 and had half hour shifts on the trampoline. Everything was donated from our community and we had face painting, slushies, cotton candy and all types of activities. The excitement and enthusiasm in the air was contagious! "

Southwest Gymnastics Training Center - Tempe, Ariz.
"We started National Gymnastics Day off with a bang Sept 11th during our open gym time! Each individual that came to our event rotated through 8 stations. At each station they were tested on a skill that they received points for based on how they did. Some examples of our stations were: if they could touch their toes or even reach past them, how long they can hold a handstand, how many spider dips they could do, how many assisted pull ups, how high they could climb the rope and etc. Then we put up their score on our website so they could see how they compared to contestants their age. We had ages 18 mo to 60 years old participate!
One activity we did during the week was if they wore the colors of our gym they could come to the front office and receive a prize. If participants couldn't come Sept 11th they were able to come Tues and Thursday to be tested at the stations. Their scores were also included on the website at www.funtoflip.com. Then on Sept 18th during our open gym, we set up our bounce house, and had games and other fun activities during our free open gym. At the end of open gym we gave a medal to every participant who had participated in both Saturdays and during the week. Lastly we awarded the top female and male non-gymnast a trophy and then the top female and male gymnast a trophy. We asked for a donation of $1.00 to participant in the event. All of the money was donated to The Children's Miracle Network. We raised a total of $124.00. "

Diva Gymnastics Academy - Canton, Ohio
"Diva Gymnastics Academy in Canton, Ohio, celebrated National Gymnastics Day in a big way! First, we had our competitive team put on a display of their competition routines for the community of Perry Township in the city of Canton. This gave our gymnasts the opportunity to perform their 2010-2011 routines in front of a crowd without the pressure of performing for judges. Immediately following, all gymnasts, both recreational and competitive, were invited to participate in a cartwheel-a-thon. This was a huge success! Later that evening, the gymnasts were invited back for a sleepover party at the gym. Diva Gymnastics Academy has been open since June of this year, so it was great to see all the support and love of gymnastics for a brand new gym. Thank you to all who helped make this day a HUGE success!"

Youngsters, Inc. Gymnastics - Sacramento and Yuba City, Calif.
"On Saturday the 18th of September, Youngsters, Inc. Gymnastics celebrated National Gymnastics Day Youngsters style! Youngsters Inc in Yuba City, Calif., and our brand NEW facility in Sacramento, Calif., both celebrated by hosting carnival style games. Our Yuba City location supplied a bounce house, sold ice cream, and both gyms held open gym all day for everyone to enjoy. During the event, both locations had special performances by local cheer squads, and they were spectacular! The Sacramento location had a special guest appearance from our wonderful owner, Olympic Medalist Guard Young!
"Weeks before National Gymnastics Day we had our members vote on who they would want to see get pied in the face. Each location had a coach get pied by a long line of children, it was hilarious! We also raised a lot of money by having our children all participate in a Skill-A-Thon. The Skill-A-Thon is a challenge the coaches give to the kids to see if they can get sponsors to sponsor them for the skills they do in class. Great job to all the children who participated - everyone did a super job! While the children were having a blast in the gym and all the festivities going on, Youngsters, Inc. didn't forget about the parents. Both locations had many raffle prizes that were donated by local business in the area. All in all, the event was not only fun, but also very successful. We thank all of our sponsors and participants for making this event a success. Youngsters, Inc. will be sending Children's Miracle Network $2,404.56 Great job to everyone that made this possible. "

Twister Gymnastics - Boca Raton, Fla.
"I would like to share our National Gymnastics Day and Children's Miracle Network fundraiser with you. This was our first year participating in the event. We had a great turn out for the space that we have available in our gym. There was around 200 people in our gym for the event. The main focus of our event was to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. We raised $1,003.13.
"The main draw for our kids was the "Kiss the Pig" contest. The kids loved this and we will definitely be doing it again next year. For the Kiss the Pig, all of our instructors decorated a "piggy bank" and it was a contest to see who could get the most donations from their students. The instructor that raised the most money by the night of our event, got the honor of kissing a real pig. A local wildlife education group came into the gym with "Pumpkin" the pig. They also brought several other animals that the kids were allowed to hold. I had the honor of kissing the pig. Over $700 was raised just through the pig. I attached a picture of me and the pig. The kids and their families have yet to stop talking about it. It was a big hit.
"We also had freshly grilled food for the guest, a balloonist was there making balloon animals for the kids, and we also had many great raffle prizes. All prizes and services were donated by local businesses. Even our staff volunteered their time to help make this event a great success.
"Everyone had a great time and we will definitely be trying to out do ourselves next year. "
