Eric hails from a family with a strong background in gymnastics. His brother, Chris, was the 1998 Goodwill Games still rings champion and his sister, Tara, was a competitive gymnast on the Stanford University gymnastics squad. Eric is currently majoring in criminal justice at the State University of New York at Farmingdale with the intention of one day becoming a member of law enforcement. Eric maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and is a candidate for admittance to Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society. Eric trains at Eastern Gymnastics Center in Nesconset , New York and has set his sights on competing at the 2005 World Championships in Melbourne , Australia .
