Jessica was a 1996 Olympian. She is one of the few U.S. gymnasts who began rhythmic gymnastics and not artistic gymnastics. Most rhythmic gymnasts start out as artistic gymnasts. Jessica began the sport when her elementary school teacher introduced her to it and she loved it. Jessica has dominated her sport for the past two years. She won the 1995 and 1996 Rhythmic National Championships, the 1996 Rhythmic Challenge, the 1995 U.S. Olympic Festival and the 1996 Olympic Trials. She finished 24th all-around at the 1995 World Championships and secured the U.S. a spot in the 1996 Olympic Games. Jessica is looking forward to attending the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in the fall of '96. Jessica appeared on the Jay Leno show a few weeks after the 1996 Olympic Games. She has a slight connection to the 1992 Olympic Games, she was selected as the model for Clairol's 1992 Olympic sponsorship and was featured in a full page advertisement in People magazine.
