spending time with my family.



Bagiu began gymnastics at age 5 while still living in Romania. He emigrated with his family to the U.S. in 1979 and became a citizen in 1989. Bagiu was a member of the 1996 Olympic Team which placed fifth. This team was the strongest men's team since 1984. He competed for the first time in World Championships competition in 1994, representing the U.S. at both the Team and All-Around/Individual World Championships competitions. He was awarded the Hilton BounceBack Award at the 1994 Hilton Challenge due to his quick rise up the ranks of the National Team. He married Kris in 1992, and the couple had their first child, Gabriela, in April of 1995. Bagiu is Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified as a personal fitness counselor. He plans to pursue a fitness career after retirement.
